What is a VAC?

A Visa Application Center is an office where the applicant submits the application for a travel Visa to a country' Embassy.
In the Visa Application Center the application is collected along with picture and biometric and personal information about the applicant. Depending on the Country, specific workflow of processing the application and different security levels are applied.
VACs sizes could vary a lot depending on the size of the city they are located, ranging from 2000square meters of the largest VACs to a few hundred square meters of small offices.
Designing a VAC consists in making a design concept, representing the workflow of proseccing the application, depicting also the touch and feel of the proposed interior design, with furniture and all elements that would characterize the final design.
The design proposal is then part of the bid for the Visa application service, forwarded by the Client to the Embassy.
COTIGNANODESIGN did work, not at the same time, for two major international players, VFS Global and BLS International, working over the years on bids for Germany, Italy and Saudi Arabia for VACs located in China, India, Russia, Turkey and UK.
Each VAC design was adapted to the culture of the Country represented and very Country specific, with elements materials and colors changing on the applicant natiolnality specific culture.
As per Non disclosure agreement, I can't show the actual final designs done for the Clients. Below you can find a few images representing a typical medium size VAC interior, redesigned as a work sample.
